Wandering the streets of inner-northern Madrid. |
Moving along from our stay in Lisbon, there wasn’t much
further west to go (sorry, USA – maybe next holiday). So we boarded a plane to
head east into Spain. With two stops lined up over the following week or so, we
started with the capital and metaphorical centre of Spain: Madrid.
Arriving in the early afternoon, we took the metro from
the airport to Tribunal station, which was only a short walk from our AirBnB.
Located in a university housing complex, we had a cozy mezzanine loft booked
for our stay, and while small, it was just perfect for us. Our host, Pablo,
gave us great instructions on how to arrive and check in, and we found
everything we needed right there – including a kitchen inside the cupboard,
which we thought was just great!

And, of course, paella! Check out the supersize flea market on Day 24! |
