Beautiful leafy avenues along the river; I could get used to Lyon. |
The next morning, after a lie in and a late breakfast, we
returned to Rue des Marronniers for some lunch, this time going next door to
Chez M’man. Both aiming for one of the offered set menus, I couldn’t pass on
the intriguing entree of poached eggs in red wine sauce; and it was delicious!
This, followed up with blood sausage – which was equally tasty – made for a
good lunch. Avy’s steak was, unfortunately, overcooked, so it wasn’t smooth
sailing all around!

Blood sausage for me... |

...steak for the wife. |

And some Crème brûlée and apple pie just to completely stuff us full!

We spent the afternoon strolling through the streets of
Lyon central, lavishing in the beautiful autumn colours, with leaves of a
thousand different shades as far as the eye could see. Lyon is an incredibly
beautiful city, and one of our favourites from all of the places we have been
on this trip!
